Individual objects span, on stylistic evidence, the later 6th century to the earlier 8th century AD; the hoard's burial is most often placed c. 650-675 AD, though this date is contested (see narrative) - Gold, silver and silver-gilt, with garnet cloisonne, gold filigree, niello and glass, mostly in the form of dismantled sword, helmet and other war-gear fittings
