After 1700 on radiocarbon evidence; reported by the maker's son to have been modelled in 1846. Bought and exhibited as about 1500. - Wax, principally spermaceti with minor beeswax and probably stearin or tallow, partly painted; hollow cast in at least three layers by lost-wax moulding
